1.Samaan: Governs navel and exit first
Samaan is the balancing prana. It is responsible for the assimilation and distribution of energy within the body. Samaan flows through the digestive system, regulating the metabolism and absorption of nutrients. It is associated with the stomach and small intestine and governs the functions of digestion and assimilation. Samaan prana ensures the proper utilization of energy and maintains the body’s equilibrium.
Samana exit somehow around the half hour of the death. It regulates and maintain the body temperature. If someone is declared as dead, the temperature starts declining quickly and body becomes cool.
In the physical body, samana circulates in the digestive tract. It is all about assimilation, absorption and consolidation.
2.Prana: Governs chest and head and follows samana
Prana is the first and most important stage of pranas. It is responsible for the intake of energy from the outside world. This energy is derived from the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the thoughts we generate. Prana flows through the respiratory system, providing oxygen to the body and mind. It is associated with the heart and lungs and governs the functions of circulation, respiration, and vitality.
After samana, prana exit the physical body. It exits body within one hour. After prana, udhana exits.
3.Udhana: Governs throat and upward movement
Udhana is the upward-moving prana. It is responsible for the expression of energy and communication. Udhana flows through the throat and is associated with the vocal cords, enabling speech and self-expression. It also governs the functions of swallowing, burping, and yawning. Udhana prana is crucial for clear communication and the release of emotional energy.
Between six to twelve hours, udhana prana exit the physical body. This is the last chance to review the body especially by the means of tantric processes.
4.Apana: Governs pelvis and downward movement or elimination
Apana is the downward-moving prana. It is responsible for elimination and the removal of waste from the body. Apana flows through the lower abdomen and is associated with the excretory and reproductive systems. It governs the functions of urination, defecation, menstruation, and childbirth. Apana prana helps maintain the body’s balance and ensures the efficient removal of toxins.
As a matter of duration, apana prana takes somehow eight to eighteen hours to exit body.
5.Vyana: Governs whole body
Vyana is the expansive prana. It is responsible for the circulation of energy throughout the body. Vyana flows through the entire body, connecting all the organs and systems. It governs the functions of blood circulation, heartbeat, and nerve impulses. Vyana prana ensures the smooth flow of energy and information, promoting overall vitality and coordination.
Vyana prana is considered last to exit physical body. It takes around 13 days from someone declared as dead. This is all about the understanding of five pranas
